Eventually

by Scrittore   Jan 15, 2009

I'm always left with the empty hand
Watching people come then leave again
Hardening a heart that yearns to love
Willing to put all things above
My own wants and needs to just to keep
Someone, anyone here with me
The sad and lonely reality
They all leave eventually
Taking with them a small part
That soon will encompass my entire heart
Till there is nothing left that I can provide
Never making for a man a decent bride
For who would want a broken soul
That has been shattered many years ago
All that remains is an emptied shell
And a longing desire for something to dwell
Deep within without a fear
That soon they will quickly disappear
Maybe then I can see the truth
Having everything I longed for as a youth
With a sense of fullness I won't describe
There is only one this can be ascribed
So here I am on bended knee
Praying that he will hear my plea
And release these shackles of my doubt
So that my person can begin to sprout
Into a beautiful, vibrant, passionate flower
Never question future time till their hour
Soon it will become a reality
They won't all leave eventually
