Child on a Swing-Set

by Wake Me Up   Jan 20, 2009

Life is a child on a swing-set,
Laughter bursting from him as his feet move,
Going as far as the chain will let,
Daring to close his eyes for awhile,
Losing control, he's beginning to fret,
He is flying, no, he is falling,
Before the second ends he and ground met,
He is buried in the harsh sand,
Sand got in his eyes, dumb swing-set,
Wiping off sand he gets on his feet,
Gets on the swing, how far will he get?

    Life is a child on a swing-set,
Laughter bursting from him as his feet move,
Going as far as the chain will let,
Daring to close his eyes for awhile,

^^ I love the starting lines of this. And the fourth line. The comparison of a kid on a swing set and life is excellent. And the fourth line seems like it's talking about taking chances in life. (Just my opinion)

Losing control, he's beginning to fret,
He is flying, no, he is falling,

^^ I love the second line.

Before the second ends he and ground met,
He is buried in the harsh sand,
Sand got in his eyes, dumb swing-set,
Wiping off sand he gets on his feet,
Gets on the swing, how far will he get?

^^ I love how you say he gets back on and tries again. And the first line "he and the ground met" was amazing.

    Awesome job.
