Butterflies (Rondel)

by Jenni Marie   Jan 21, 2009

Heart fluttering everytime you touch me
Become so euphoric, finally content
Though it was never my intent
It seems I've fallen hard for thee

Know that those three words I meant
Fixed this heart, no longer full of debris
Heart fluttering everytime you touch me
Become so euphoric, finally content

Seems to my heart you now hold the key
So now my love to you, I now cement
Finally trusting after all the past torment
For in your arms, overcome with ecstasy
Heart fluttering everytime you touch me

Rondel- A French form consisting of 13 lines: two quatrains and a quintet, rhyming as follows:
ABba abAB abbaA. The capital letters are the refrains, or repeats.
