You're gone but you won't disappear

by Viola   Jan 22, 2009

I want to remember our hands weaved together
Just that
Intertwined
Of your fingers giving warmth to mine
Spreading
Our palms pressed against each other
The lines in them bleeding together
Like watercolors on a canvas
Creating our history
If I knew our faith then
I might have never allowed for such a thing
Your skin touching mine
Electrifying my being
But I did believe in innocence and nativity
That you
Would not leave like so many others
I'm tired of all this
And oh so much can be taken away
I'm always aware
Of my antique blue fingers
Impossibly cold
Lying on my lap without yours
And though I won't begin to show
Deep inside of me I know
I'm still loving ghosts
