The Voices

by Jeffrey Hager   Jan 23, 2009

The Mother gives you all the love she holds
The Father tells you what needs to be told
This TV reality says not to push the button
But I'm here for living and not living nothing

The Cool one tells you how to roll
The Copper tells you now pay the toll
The Man says this is my machine
Burning minds and turn lies
Though that TV screen

The Teacher tells you how to learn
The Preacher tells you how to burn
My mind tells me just to be me
But born in these shackles
How do I break free

It's like this world just turns to make a buck
When Love, Peace, and Happiness
Are the things we want
A Revolution Can't Be The Only Solution
But these problems need solving
And this planet just keeps on revolving

    I liked this alot.
At first I didnt understand the meaning
But After the second time of reading
This I understood It I love the message.
    Its really well written.
We were born I think to this world
To make changes but some people
Or most people wont use the freedoms
they have and that is freedom of speech.
I think alot of people are afraid to speek up
about alot of things this world can no longer
offer. I liked this alot! We were born I think
    to make a diffrence.
    Take care.
