Saying Goodbye

by XxLonelyLovexX   Jan 25, 2009

He's walking out now
with his head held high
while you just smile
holding in a goodbye
you don't want him to leave
but you have no say
for its his time to shine
in his own way
you've had moments like this
since he was first conceived
where you've had to watch
the life lessons he received
whether those moments were good
or times where he cries
he's always been perfect
but only in your eyes
He was never the best kid
only in school though
for he had it rough
but would never said so
however he was a tough kid
for he didn't want to let
you know how bad he felt
in those times of regret
he always seemed to look out
for you in many ways
since growing up without a dad
was really hard these days
he's your pride and joy
and it kills you to see
the man that your little boy
has grown up to be
only because it means
that your number one fan
won't be around anymore
for he has to show he can
be better then they said he would
show he can be true
for he's in the army now
and is seeing it through
