A Missing Daddy

by crystaljean88   Jan 25, 2009

Taking care of a little girl,
not knowing whats ahead.
Everyday gets a little harder,
always wishing I was dead.

Her daddy is far away gone,
but thats his own choice.
I know she misses him,
whenever she hears his voice.

Feeling guilty like always,
I cry tears every night.
Taking her away from him,
staying out of his sight.

"Daddy, call daddy"
I hear her voice say.
While breaking my heart,
I tell her her not today.

He was never around anyways,
always pushing her away.
The drugs were more important,
than to be here with her today.

The love I have for her,
is worth all my tears.
While holding her hand,
I'll be here through the years.

I liked the story through this poem, but would work a little on the flow. It seemed a bit choppy in some areas.

Well i can feel the emotions running thru the poem from the start to the finish...It is a sad write indeed. But im sure tt ure a good mom...and im sure tt she would understand when she get older...But it's good that she is with you then her junkie father...coz she would be saying "Mommy, call mommy" instead. It was certainly a pleasure to read this poem

    Excellent Job
    5/5
