A December Snow

by Caetlin Miakoda Collison   Jan 25, 2009

Stay and watch
As I pick up what’s left of the shattered glass
Watch as I clean up the broken frame
Sit as my tears grace the surface of the image in my hands
Your arm is on my shoulder
My hand around your waist
I do not recognize the smile
That is displayed upon your face
I don’t remember this memory
Though I was clearly there
It seems to be impossible
The happiness we shared

I know that is me
I know the other is you
But I don’t recognize the scene
December 13th 1995
On the back the letters read
Not so long ago
Though it seems a century
When we both looked at each other and smiled
Now it seems just a dream

You stare as I remember
A time to long ago
I wonder If you remember
That December in the snow
