To Measure Life In Love

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 27, 2009

In the sunrise when birds fly high
And clouds form shapes to trick your eyes
I lay in the grass and look above
To find a way to measure life in love.

I'll look and ask to every tree I see
Whether it knows how this could be?
Laying next to a kind white dove
I'm on my way to measure life in love.

If anybody minds or tries to find
That love is just a waste of time
They'll be left so far behind
Confined to walls that can't be climbed
And always drowning in a sea of swine.

In the morning with the warmth of coffee
I try to measure life in love.
Looking at the sunrise, wondering
If anything else is worthy of
The time I spend looking up above.

Watching the clouds take forms
That change on a day that's warm.
I hope that there wont be a storm
In the lit up sky that love transforms.

I wake up early and want to close my eyes
I'm still sleepy and don't wish to rise.
I lay in the grass and look above
To find a way to measure life in love.
