All The Same

by Sharlene   Jan 27, 2009

Fire thrives inside our hearts
Because we all are different
Still look at race and color tones
Though we are all indifferent

Our pride inside has taken over
We quarrel over who's the best
But though God said we all are equal
We still choose who is blest

Hate has over ran this world
It has drained out all the love
So I wonder what our God is thinking
As he watches us from above

I cant understand how we choose who's better
When if cut we all can bleed
When we all feel hate and all show love
And at times we all feel greed

How do I despise him because hes white?
Or not like her because shes black
I don't hang with them because their rich
Or I hate them because of what they lack

I don't know how we make such decisions
But I do know that we are wrong
Because were all fighting on a battle field
And in a way we all belong

Because fire thrives in all our hearts
and In a way we all are different
Still look at race and color tones
Though we are all indifferent
