President Revolution

by KemistryKia   Jan 28, 2009

A revolution is in toe
i said a revolution is knocking at my doe
i said the river has a new tide
giving a different fish a new ride
can you see the sun
so bright it hurts to hide
i said i see the new day
just peeking to say hi
well hello new horizon
hello and welcome to my home
welcome to my family
please take a seat at the throne
i said my ancestors cried for this day
i said my ancestors died for this day
i said my people saw this day
i said my people is smiling today
today we were one
no fights
no guns
i said today we were people
today we became equal
find a fault in my new hero
i said bring your trouble come
because together we fight the troublesome
i said today we are the people today
i said we are the brave
we are the proud
we are the new generation
we are the dominant race of the new century
i said today this is history
today we can believe
i said today we made history
today i became we

This poem uses colloquial wording in a brilliant way to honor a very long struggle understood only by those whom know the full meaning of created equal

    Well done
