But I would have never guessed that it would fade

There was nothing left that we adored
As much as we both wanted it, we had to end

Three years together soon went down the drain
It was not worth holding onto all the pain
So the day came when we had to look at each other
And say that we are going to go seek another
We told each other that it was never going to work again
We cried as we had to walk away from our best friend
How were we going to let go of the love
Angels were crying from heaven above
These two lovers that have decided to walk away
Crying and missing each other, but had to make it through each day
