Spade of hearts

Sitting here in this room
Just as time stands still
Without you by my side
The wind has a frozen chill

I was the prince of pain for so long
I feel I'm in a world apart
I was the king of sorrow
Until I met my queen of hearts

You took my hand in yours
Gave me a reason to exist
I want to show you how I feel
But I know I must resist

Because my heart knew not of love
Until you came along
My mind told me love was pain
then you came and proved it wrong

Before I met you it felt as if,
My heart was about to fade
Before i met you my love,
My heart was simply just a spade

    Lovely poem !! You're right love can be really scare and cause a lot of pain if it is not meant to be which is why most people close their hearts and build walls, but opening your heart to someone is the greatest thing a person can do.
    Well written !! Good job, keep it up.
