Irish Heart

by Twisted Heart   Feb 3, 2009

For just a moment
As the dew crystallized upon the meadow
And deep glens of yore
Were rising up at morn
I chanced to recollect the heart in wonder
Too sweet the satin breath was born

In such a wonder
I saw clear the misty waves of splendor
Upon the pearls of dew
Set waking in the crest
Along the horizon came a calling
For the Irish heart to rise from rest

With eyes yearning
I lay entranced by all the loving
Of twines weaving hearts
With flowers in the glen
Rising up from where I burrowed
Content for Irish lore to start again.

Oh heart of Irish
Casting darts of dreams upon my birth
Will but a chance of love
Be tempting me this day
As freely as the sun is tempting earth
