Backstabber

by Ingrid   Feb 4, 2009

From the day we met
I always cared for you
With all your troubles
I saw you through

The things you told me
I never told a soul
I just prayed one day
you'd once again be whole

Today I counted the messages
and reread them all too
Needless to say, my friend
they were all about you

But then, it always was
you and how you were
It never bothered me
the thought never occurred

Thanks for stabbing me, your buddy
in the back without remorse
I know in due time, dear friend
The path of truth will take it's course

A good write Ingrid on an interesting subject, and the poem rhymes!
I liked the flow of this poem Ingrid, and on a subject most of us have encountered in this life I suspect.

Excellent write. As the reader I can feel the pain for the writer. It hurts to trust someone and get stabbed in the back. 5/5

Sad indeed. Well i truly believed that a real friend cannot be a backstabber. What is real is pure, but what is fake will break any bound. It is my wish that these words are just the fruits of your imagination and you'd never came across a co-called friends like this. Very well done ingrid, 5/5, kel.
