The Emptiness

by gasping for air   Jun 11, 2004

I haven't shed a tear,
I've promised myself I wouldn't,
But I can't promise,
That I won't miss you.
Because I do,
I think I always will,
No matter what I do,
Or what I say.
It's normal,
Considering how much,
I cared for you,
How much I love you.
Nothing can change,
The love I have for you,
Or the place I keep,
Here in my heart for you.
What can change,
Is the emptiness,
The emptiness that you filled,
With love for me.
Eventually,
I'll fill that emptiness,
With someone else,
Who makes me happy.
This time,
I'm going to take it slow,
So I can make sure,
That he's the one for me.
I don't want to get hurt,
Again,
Like you hurt me.
