It's Over

by gasping for air   Jun 11, 2004

This is the last place I want to be,
Here on my knee,
Kneeling beside you,
There's a veil on my face that I can?t see through,
It's black, oh so black,
And the sight of it makes my heart dark.

A few days ago it was you and I,
We were soaring through the sky,
I though nothing could bring us down,
But something did and your parents are in town,
They're here with me,
But it isn't me they see.

You're the one,
You were their son,
You were their everything,
Just having you near made them sing,
And for the short time I had you I did too,
When I was with you I flew.

But now my flying is done,
I have stopped having fun,
I'll miss you more than anyone knows,
Only a small part of it shows,
For the rest of my life,
I'll carry it around like a knife.

We were lovers,
But now it's over,
I'll always keep you in my heart,
No matter how long we're apart.
