Cyanide

by Stace   Feb 10, 2009

I see you watch her everywhere
But for you she'll never care
Just to spite the tears you've cried
That little dose of cyanide

I've known you both so well, so long
Both of you inside are strong
But she resists the urge to love
That pretty minx, that lonesome dove

Desperation's taught her things
Go down with the prince, get up with the king
She thought she had done what was right
To give it up to them at night

Her lies have hurt her deep within
Along with her love life of sin
Yet she pretends she doesn't care
And feels the rip after the tear

At night her pillow's soaked with tears
And her heart is full of fears
But as day dawns she's back to sly
And no one knows that she can cry

Each girl's envy, each man's dream
And no one knows of any schome
No one guesses her facade
Or cupid's spree of playing God

Her bitterness inside has made
Her every action a charade
Who she is will pierce your heart
Her words will shred your love apart

Nothing in her is worthwhile
Although you love her sweet, coy smile
Go find some other girl to hold
Before your heart grows faint and old

Only I may know this much
True love it is she wants to touch;
You're too good for a wretch who's lied
This little dose of cyanide
