Yet it Tears Us Apart

by Stace   Feb 10, 2009

You learned some more about me
Things I don't want you to see
Can't let him see inside my heart--
I say, yet it tears us apart

I want to be so close to you
Even though I know it's through
Can't even have a little fling
For I'm the end of everything

Deep inside my heart is black
I wish that I could just turn back
But it's Pandora's box, I know
You don't want what's inside, so go

You say you do, but you don't know
That love in me has ceased to grow
My anger causes me to sin
I can't let people like you in

Because I know I'll hurt you, too
For with my words I'll tear at you
I only angry with my past
But I know that this love won't last

Don't you see, you can't be near
Even though I want you, dear
I'd poison you with words I say
And I would drive your love away

You don't want me, I'm not worth choosing
Can't you see that you're not losing?
This bitterness caked up inside
I won't resist my urge to hide

The biggest lie I've ever told
As if I don't want you to hold
I cannot let you in my heart --
I say, yet it tears us apart
