Away

I'm ready for a change in pace
Because it hurts to see your face
The world's my stomping grounds, I know
But leaving home? I just can't go

To me home's like a worn-out shoe
I just can't say that it is through
I won't let go my baby doll
i know I'm old, I say I'm small

I want to grow, but only here
Close to the things that I hold dear
I only want to work it out
I don't like my heart filled with doubt

Would you know it's because of you
That bell that chimes that says we're through
With you around I just can't stay
These mem'ries driving me away

I cannot win this awful fight
I know that leaving is what's right
And I can't stand my mind to race
When I see your painful face

So I'll pretend that I don't care
And lying for my self-made dare
Enduring the time that I stay
And that's why I must go away
