The Devil's Child

by Stace   Feb 11, 2009

Who's afraid of the devil's child?
Maybe just a girl, but she's gone wild
Perhaps she can see through your soul
But only because it's one black hole

She cool, calm, threat'ning and severe
To her the dark is crystal clear
That's why your heart's an open book
She comprehends with one quick look

To her a lie is just a game
Something to drive you insane
You're chasing after phantom black
You choose her lies and can't look back

Death game it is, no deep disguise
You just can't catch her by surprise
She's like a cat, her fur is black
Her heart's a shell and it won't crack

This is a punishment, this chase
Seduction gets you in the race
You're slave to her, she won't let go
This game will never end, you know

You love her, you're enslaved to her
Her whisper is a lethal purr
The paradox: a deadly game
And yet you love and hate the same

You cannot race the devil's child
You'll never face the devil's child
And yet she yearns for something more
Than settling her father's score
