Bobby

Bobby

I remember you well
It was love at first sight
From the moment we met
being with you felt so right

That first time, at my parents
I sighed, my heart skipped a beat
and you gave such a silly moan
From then on every time we'd meet

I fell in love right there and then
With your brown eyes, your hair
You had a grace and a grandeur
to which no one could compare

So many times we went away
to the beach or the forest nearby
You would always be by my side
and defend me without being shy

My parents used to tell me
how you waited anxiously
Staring at the window alone
expecting my return full heartedly

I will never forget the day
dad called to tell me the news
you had cancer at the final stage
I went crazy , blew my fuse

For months I cried every day
until that one night I saw you
in my dream, my beautiful boy
You told me not to cry for you

Showed me your new life
how you were happy once again
in a new body and my tears dried
My suffering came to an end

I will never forget you my friend.

Bobby died at age 8 in August 1996 due to lung cancer.
He was the biggest, bravest and most beautiful Berner Sennen dog this world has ever known.

Well, what can I say about your so personal poem about your dog Bobby. It is such a heartfelt write, and you have expressed your feelings here so very well. Bobby must of been quite a dog.
A lovely poem Ingrid, rest assured you will be reunited with him in Gods Heaven.

Thank you, Peter. He was my parent's dog, but I loved him very much too:)

Wow, great ending. That really touched my heart. I have a dog named Beau, and I love him so incredibly much. He's still young and healthy, but this still really hit home, as my other family dog passed away a year ago. Dogs are great, and become much more then a pet. They become part of the family. Wonderful poem, one of my favorites of yours. 5/5

This is such a loving piece of a wonderful dog that is dearest to you, but passed away. You have written a beautiful dedication to a trusting friend. I have a great dog too that I love unconditionally, and I understand the attachment and love felt towards them. I had to watch my dog Sam put to sleep when he was 18 years ago, so I can feel your pain. Beautiful wording, and the ending was so emotional and touching. Absolutely stunning descriptions and every line captured my heart and soul! 5/5 from me, take care....

I think people who have never had a pet would not be able to understand the sadness in this piece. I have grown up with pets all my life and i feel the sadness in your words. Losing a dog is never an easy thing, the truly do become apart of your family.

A very heartfelt write and a lovely dedication to Bobby. Bobby is my dogs name, so it made it even sadder for me!

A great write, even if it was very sad.
