Insomnia Pt 1

by iLYSSA   Feb 14, 2009

Written in the late night of wake
as I toss and turn on that couch
awaking almost every hour as that clock ticks,
bombarded and soaked in thoughts of you
in a pool of random thoughts
scenarios,
short clips, images of you.
press that button to the ipod that flips to the next song about you.
3 am says the clock
that ticks away seconds that feel like forever.
eyes wide open as my stomach churns with an acid like feeling,
swimming thoughts of split second screenshots.
this battle with sleep has brought me to this keyboard
writing about the effects of my insomnia
that keep these eyes wide open
staring at the ceiling.
flip,
gazing at the wall yet seeing right through it.
eyes closed for seconds, minutes, hours
but I'm wide awake
due to this insomnia
