Surrounded By Your Mistakes

by Kelsy   Feb 17, 2009

So many thoughts
Jogging across the highways of my mind

Illegal U-turns
Going the wrong way down one-way streets

Backtracking on the road I already took
Circles I've repeated a thousand times

Almost regretting the decision to turn left instead of right
But maybe
This is how it's supposed to be
Maybe I really was supposed to make that
Accidental left-hand turn
To the destination I never wanted to come to

Maybe I should just keep accelerating
Because there's always a way out of that small town
In the middle of nowhere

I can't let faulty directions become the only directions
I have to make new ones and navigate my way out of those
Last mistakes

Those
'Rough Road Ahead' warning signs

And think of where I could really be heading
No matter how treacherous those mountains are
The terrain is only part of what makes the trip worthwhile

Well first and fore most i like to say that i like the used of the roads and direction as metaphor for ur poem. Well sometimes we may regret taking the wrong turns in life, sometimes it is also a blessing in disguise that we made that turn. Fate works in a way which we do not understand. Sometimes the best thing thing that could happen to u happens after we made the wrong choice. So yeah so just like u said accelerate further and this is the path that fate has intended for us to take

    Excellent Job
