Silently crying

Married with a child a life so sad,
none knowing how he'd treat her
and how everything made him mad.

she felt so alone and no one knew
how bad things were
the things he'd do.

kicking
screaming
yelling
hitting

she'd cry in bed at night and pray
for the day when god
would make the pain go away

till one day she took that step
couldn't take it anymore
gave him the finger and finally left

with her daughter
she found a home a job a friend,
and in return her heart she'd send

a great person he was
he made her smile
helped him forget about his girlfriend for awhile

then one day her family knew,
about all the things that she was put through

her family came along to take her away,
she didn't know what to do
what words to say.

when her friend came she whispered i love you
as a tear rolled down her face
her parents would take her away
not knowing what was the case

alone
she is feeling so sad and depressed,
her lover and friend so far away now
everything seems a mess.

even now
all she can do is secretly wait for the day of her secret lover,
till that day she waits
crying silently under her covers.
