Calling Me Home in the light of Day

by Wallace   Feb 18, 2009

Angelic voices beckoned sweetly
Calling him home like the end of day
In peace and virtue their presence passed by
Leading him to an everlasting lay

In midst of night they appeared shining
Gently preceding their rightful duty
To take in peace the earnestly waiting
In pure and holy heavenly beauty

A promise fulfilled for the mount of his faith
Never he ceased to love and obey
His righteousness shall be an echoing reminder
How oft we should humble and pray

No longer with us, no longer he waits
For he has entered God's heavenly gates
When the angelic voices chanted their say
And called him home in the light of day

A poem for my grandfather.

You touched angels with this piece. What a wonderful poem to someone dear. He's at peace now and if he can see this, he's smiling.
    Take care
