Second Thoughts

by Melissa   Feb 18, 2009

I scrutinize the pith
of poetry,
teeth gnawing like a rabid dog
desperate for a mere morsel
of anything more fulfilling
than this molehill of words
that play with our thoughts
more often than not

I lay restlessly between the folds
of my poems paper
absorbing truths
no longer read by another's tongue

vacant-
with no guests to foster,
only notes to self

and yet somehow
I elude me

^^ I feel like that when I couldnt express myself in written words ... you have described the exact feeling in few words ... brilliant ...

Excellent, visceral writing, as always. I would never pass by your writing either, Melissa!
