'At eighteen years of age,
Defining all the adversities.
Fellow soldiers engaged
With orders to amnesties.'

I loved the rhyme and flow here, you immediately suck the reader in with an interesting story and you really portray what the soldiers go through. Vivid imagery right from the start.

'Vivid images flash within.
Memories of pain and gore,
I must now throw in the bin.'

I feel this could be changed because the rhyme is absent with nightmare and gore, and 'throw in the bin' just doesn't sound right next to the marvellous imagery and mature descriptions that proceed and follow it.

Other than that, a great write!

Physically; Emotionally Battered envolves the strength and heart I feel that mind and soull is also implied by this well written poem

-oh these lines here are reasonably true, and I do not argue with that fact coz it’s really a part of growth, present adolescence hunger for freedom when they reach a stage of independence yet in the end they’ll learn something, something for improvement

Fellow soldiers engaged
With orders to amnesties.
-this really makes me sad, I wonder why war is popularly known than charitable acts, I have never heard in history on how nations joined together for a better cause but only battling under their flag and in the end the conflict haven’t met its solution.

Insanity nearing
On the brink of reality.
Explosions and blood searing,
Through what I actually see.
-I think I got the message here, I cannot connect the first line to the succeeding lines. The last lines were incredibly true as of the present, it brings me back some flashbacks of historical events which took over millions of lives in cold blood *Nagasaki & Hiroshima Tragedy*

Recognizing voices from afar
United as one; band of brothers.
Rescued to safety, penetrating scars
Physically; emotionally battered by others.
-*Band Of Brothers* I can relate this outstanding film to this stanza. You have a really heart breaking and dramatic lines you have here where foot soldiers are sent for a better cause sacrificing almost everything in an exchange for others’ lives. Very heroic, the sad part is they’re recognized less. T_T Very wise that you have put up this idea.

Recovery now a must,
While I'm back home.
Pondering whom to trust
My eyes fastly roam.
-Oh suspicion, is that what this means? I wonder why. .in these cases all those who are engaged in a war when they came back home they feel a sense of relief. . I think some don’t. it all depends on one’s situation.

Nightmare upon nightmare,
Vivid images flash within.
Memories of pain and gore,
I must now throw in the bin.
-I can feel a sense of suffering here, struggling on how to escape from the prison of the past, a past so miserable. . hunting one’s mind and heart through an invasion on dreams. Yet memories meant to be forgotten, you cannot do that easily, it takes time and motivation, a help of those who are concerned.

The life I once had now gone,
Left behind for the dust to take.
Home at last, singing heartfelt songs,
Tears of joy quenching my ache.
-a powerful concluding stanza, filled with emotions with a feeling of lasting relief which can be felt after a triumph. . I just love how you ended this piece.

The Beginning= *Adversities Looming*
The Road to the End= *Struggling/suffering*
The Ending= *Relief/Peace*
(That’s how I summarize it)

You definitely conveyed a message with this poem. So often many people just see the physical aspects of war such as broken bodies and burned cities. Many people don't stop to see the barren wasteland that war can leave behind in the mind. Those scars so often are so deep they haunt the poor souls who had to endure them. You did a wonderful job portraying that!

This poem is beautiful. I love it. It's so true, that soldiers have to live with the things that they've seen, done, been a part of. My boyfriend is one of those people, so this one kind of hits home for me. Wonderful.

^^I think that this is my favorite stanza. It seems so true. It makes me wonder if you are also one of the people that you have written about here? You don't have to answer that question. But the way you write it makes it sound to personal to be fiction. Wonderfully done.

What a fantastic piece. Solidiers who come home from war, bring with them a lifetime of horrible memories and i think people often forget that. The things they see would trouble them for some time, i can only imagine.
This poem was really well done, i havent read any of your poetry before, but this is a beautiful write.
