Let Me Get Away

Don't give me that look
Thinking I'll give in
I've wanted this for far too long
To let a look under my skin

You've known that this was coming
It's not like I hid it from you
And now that I'm really leaving
You need to get a clue

It's not that I don't love
Because I do, quite a bit
But I know that if I stay here
Drama will try to take a hit

And I'm not sure I'm strong enough
To keep my feet here on the ground
Because this drama has a way
Of breaking people down

Being gone will be hard for me,
I'm a mamma's girl to the core
But as I start to grow into myself
I begin to yearn for more

And lately I don't think you realize
You guys are the reason I can't stay
You know that I'll come back to you
But first you have to let me get away.
