The Past

by kim kilner   Jun 11, 2004

The flame I held inside of me
Has turned into a flicker
The speed in which I fell for you
I have lost oh so much quicker

The sparkle in my eyes
Has turned into a blur
Ever since I found out the truth
About you and her

The smile upon my face
Has vanished into the night
Taken into the distance
On a beam of lunar light

The ring upon my finger has returned into its box
There it shall remain
With my memories, locked.

You really do have all the luck in the world with your choice of men dont you. If they're not cheating on you with women, they're cheating on you with men. Ever thought of becoming a nun? Lovely poem; sad but certainly worth the read. Keep em coming Kim, hope to read more from you, K
