Glimpses Through the Tunnel

by Bianca   Feb 21, 2009

The light is dimming,
And yet I still return.

My sleep brings nightmares,
And the girl with the bloody hands,
and pain-filled eyes stays silent.

With a past as damaged as hers,
one cannot begin
to imagine the extent of her sorrow.

Time stops-
with despair's clock ticking still,
completely undamaged.

Her glass eyes shatter in the distance,
And through the mirror of truth,
she can see nothing.

She backs away,
Thinking hopeful thoughts
Like those of pathetic dreamers.
But the sun no longer shines that way,
Cold reality's time has come.

The light is dimming,
My nightmares, taunting.
I cannot escape.
And although the road is rough,
The sun is lie,
And soft clouds are now non-existent,
I will always return.

Yes, the sun is a lie.
It's a false sense of hope.
    Thanks for the comments.
