Definition of Love: From the Cradle to the Grave

by Kenny   Feb 22, 2009

Your love is like a cradle of peace
A resting place where pain cease
The womb that nurtures a sleeping child
A delicate love, so tender and mild

Your love is like the rain
Like a bread of life, you sustain
The hunger I felt within
To pour love above my skin

Your love is like the sun
Its warmth you have outdone
The energy to suffice my strength
A love immeasurable by length

Your love is like a hostage scene
Entrapped by your spell I am lost within
You hold me as your worthy prisoner
To thee I would gladly confront for surrender

Your love is like a sincere prayer
My often down soul you lifted up higher
The solution to surpass each burden
A love I welcomed with wide arms open

Your love is like a precious tomb
My last destination from your womb
The end of life but not of the love we shared
Your love by any means can never be compared

You're my course of life, from the cradle to the grave
The cherished wonder, within my heart engraved

Wonderful write. I liked your choice of words, it greatly expresses the adoration for love in this poem. The imagery was fantastic, good work!!! The only real critique I have for you is to use punctuation. There is no punctuation within this poem, punctuation is very important in poetry, it lets the reader know when to pause or stop as well as making the flow better.

Overall a wonderful write, keep up the good work.

    Peace, Joe
