On A Typical Wintery Day

by Nawa   Feb 22, 2009

Tinkles of raindrops creeped through the window

Making their way into the cordially heated room

Snowdrops followed shaping into canvas on the floor

Music played, symphonies of classics, jazz, and blues

As the red stained curtains swayed with the whirling gust

Flames of burning wood in the golden fireplace lit the atmosphere

While the lights flickered as each storm hit like a game of catch and release

Lullabies of ancient times swirled through the chilly numbing air

As the two lovers lay there ardently holding hands with tangled hearts

Like they did when they first met on a typical wintery day..

Did you mean to spell 'creeped' here? :)
Excellent introduction here, I liked how the poem held a dark/mysterious atmosphere. There's some great use of language here. You didnt rhyme, which was good, that would have ruined the poem in my opinion. Try not to overburden your poems with too much description though.

    Great work
