My Mansion in Heaven

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 25, 2009

My mansion in heaven
is safe from nine eleven,
and gases we're forming
that cause global warming

There's no need for killing
or any offshore drilling
Power is clean and pure
As the air is I'm sure

There is no foreclosure
Or radon gas exposure
A dwelling safe and so secure
On a foundation that will endure

As for fences there is no need
There's no such thing as greed
Mercy falls like rain so abundant
That our debts are just redundant

All transgression will just fade
For the price is already paid
By the greatest sacrifice
We may return to paradise

Wow this poem was filled with such truth and meaning! It truly shined light on the problems facing our world today and how sometimes we just wish to escape them. I loved your rhyme because it flowed flawlessly and didnt seem forced to me. Your use of imagery was also quite effective in setting the scene throughout the whole piece. Sometimes people are afraid to speak the truth about what the see but I'm glad to have read this poem because it should open some peoples eyes.

    Well done.

I loved this piece. It was so calming and just out there. It helped show the reader the real bliss that comes with not living on this planet. By leaving all the horrible things in this world. I liked the rhyming too. This poem just seemed to work for me. Nice word choice too by the way.
