Maybe Winter Will End...(Optimistic Reprise)

Maybe Winter Will End...

*Reprise poem to "Winter Won't End and I Can't See the Sky"

I step out into the hour before dawn
but hesitate, as I slip on my frayed gloves
touching the air, taken aback by its warmth
Thinking "Well, maybe winter is ending..."
And I smile, in reassurance to my soul
Your voice, echoing down the hallways of my mind,
Reminiscing on how you called last night,
just to say "I love you and goodnight."
A love that seemed unattainable and even less tangible
blossoming in both rational and unrealistic hopes
And the soft, blushing feeling that cultivates
in my heart right after those words...

And even though that I still can't see the sky
the ominous clouds are looking much more beautiful
in the canvas of this morn's sunrise...
And soon, oh so soon, I will see the moon return.

Strange, the inconsistency
Of nonchalance to extremity,
ever repelling, and intriguing.
Strange, the perspective
of a heart beating in ecstasy
against that walls of a tired, dead body.
A lasting smile, on sleeping, finite lips.
That Love can pass through Time,
distance, elements, dimensions,
Into the unknown that we crave, and dread
And for that moment, in love, we catch a glimpse of it.

Yes...I think, its going to be alright...
