I remember childhood
The things we used to do
How I used to laugh and play
And just have fun with you
I remember childhood
When you blamed me for all your crimes
Then you'd play with our nephews
While I served your time-out times
I remember childhood
And all your tomboy acts
The way you picked up bugs and dirt
Our 'sisters always' pacts
I remember childhood
When you still cared when I cried
Back when you'd still hug me
Before that part of you died
I remember childhood
My carefree older sister
The one who talked till we fell asleep
And now I kind of miss her
I remember childhood
Playmobiles and Barbie fun
Playing school and make-believe
Until childhood was done
I remember childhood
Those pre-adolescent years
When everything I said was wrong
And you were the cause of my tears
I remember childhood
The years nothing stayed the same
When your emotions went up and down
And you decided I was lame
I remember childhood
But we're both older than we were
We've grown up and grown away
That's one thing I know for sure
I remember childhood
Those little girls who thought they had it all
The same girls who look at their world crashing down
Unable to help the other not fall
I remember childhood
When Mom and Dad were always there
Lifting us up and bringing us down
So we knew they'd always care
I remember childhood
And the day I watched that old cat die
I recall having to tell you the news
It was one of the last times I've seen you cry
I remember childhood
When I knew what was in your heart
I never knew that growing up to you
Meant we would drift apart
I remember childhood
The way it used to be
Before you went to this other place
Where there was no room for me
I remember childhood
And all the times we'd fight
Finding pleasure in the fact
That we would always end up alright
I remember childhood
And I don't want to say goodbye
Are you going to leave just like that?
Or should we give us one more try?
I remember childhood
When I knew I couldn't hide
From my sister's way of knowing me
And all I kept inside
I remember childhood
All the things we used to do
I'm trying to find my sister again
Some days I don't see her in you
I remember childhood
The things we used to do
How I used to laugh and play
And just have fun with you
