Hidden talent

by InvisibleHourglass   Feb 27, 2009

She sat alone and wondered
what to do with her time she pondered
and reached for a paintbrush
she watched the colors fly and felt a rush

she looked around and quietly continued
stepped back and reviewed
she decided to hide her work from the world
the thought of showing her painting made the room swirl

she painted every now and then
only to hide her work away again
her easel, paints, and brushes
hid her secret rushes

burried them in a quiet place
they disapeared without a trace
many years later she left us all
we found the paintings leaning on the closet wall

we were all in shock of her hidden gift
it's beauty gave our hearts a lift
we wished we had known
we wished we had been shown

A sad tale. It just shows we can never take anyone for granted. Well done.

Simply amazing! you have good flow throughout the poem. And the message in it is great! We all of a talent within us, but some of us choose to hide it others to show..
