I saw you today
Walking down the street
I saw your beautiful blue eyes
And remembered being complete

At that moment I felt nothing
I really thought I was over you
I thought I could move on
But that can to not be true

When I got home
I sat and thought
Remembering all our memories
And missing you a lot

I remembered every little detail
All the good and all the bad
I remembered when you made me happy
And also when you made me sad

Right now I would like to know
Since you have broken my heart in two
And left me without a word
How come I seem to now be able to get over you?

I have tried and tried
But nothing has worked
So I think I finally realize
Why you still linger in my heart

When my heart split in two
You took half of it
And never gave it back
Leaving an empty pit

Where that empty pit remains
Is replaced with what we had
So that it always remains with me
Leaving me remembering and keeping me sad
