The Robin

by debbylyn   Mar 3, 2009

Restless robin scattering Spring
Bones of air, wind blown wings
Sinking, soaring, daring flight
Silver sails, black cat night

Red breast bandit gathering seed
Sowing Summer, tending weeds
Paper scraps, bits of thread
Feathered nest, arbor bed

Ruby warbler's curtain call
Winter's chill encore to Fall
Sunrise hook, harmonic moon
Perfect circle gone too soon

Restless robin taking stock
Hatchlings flown, southbound flock
Bobbing, preening, born to sing
Fly 'way home to scatter Spring

Articulate, clever word choice with impeccable flow. Great rhythm and unforced rhyme. A lovely read in my anticipation of the coming Spring! Excellent job!

What a beautiful piece to share with Spring right around the corner. You have painted such a vivid picture with your words. I feel like I'm there seeing it with you.

    Deb,

Absolutely lovely, dear. Flowed well and imagery was wonderful. Can't really pick a favorite stanza as the whole poem was well written.

    Splendid job.

    Always,

I love these 2 lines .... perhaps it is the feeling of sowing summer that makes me anxious and nestles happily in my thoughts.

A wonderful read Deb, the flow is flawless and the imagery painted in colors of red and green.
