Lift off

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 10, 2009

Lift off

We have lift off
We have flight
Things projected
Out of sight
With our feet
On the ground
Crafts are floating
All around
Space is infinite
Time is definite
Yet without an end
What we can send
that will slowly fall
Like the ego of us all

I like to dream
In a time machine
Where the future
Can be seen
When lady luck is good
Things happen
the way they should
Way up high and fast
with a never ending blast
Free without manmade bars
headed toward endless stars
Studying infinity in a lab
reaching for what we can grab

Lift our spirits ascending souls
As you travel for your goals
Pray our dreams not unravel in wind
As our vessels attempt to extend
To an unexplored open space
As our aspirations seem to chase
A future that is in mans reach
While heaven has a lesson to teach
What goes up must come down
By the force that is now renown
While the rampant race is run like a game
The laws of nature must remain the same

Wow i like how you experimented with this piece. It starts off like a space shuttle having a lift off... then move on to achieving your dreams and goals. Well i interprete the ending in a way that whatever dreams that you want to achieve it all starts from right now.Well certainly it was a delightful to read. I don't know why but this poem kindda puts me in a high spirited mood

    Excellent Job

I really really liked this poem. It had hope and happiness, and like reality is real, but it's our choice how we look at it, and how we live each day... hmmm. i really like this. good job, keep it up! :D
