Garden of Ponder

by InvisiblyHeartless   Mar 10, 2009

She sits, chin resting on her hand
The timeless ponder breaches
Caressing each tender thought
Casually, the rest saunter inside
Footsteps imprinting patterns
Her soft eyes slowly drifting away
They slip to her world of wondering
A new thought settles in for a nap
It dozes in a corner of distraction
It's overly welcome snore attracts
The quiet thinking girl of sorrows
This little flower thought, planted
It's seed sown in her endless garden
Normally not welcomed in this climate
A peaceful hope gets carried to spread
The young one's eyes have closed
Too lost in her adventures to see
The bench waiting for a happy owner
Butterflies and bees buzz around
Leaving traces of scented hope
The sleeper now awakes, scaring her
It's left seeds to grow on,
Each balmy wind moving it farther on
As the rest of her gentle thoughts
Settle in for the night,
The best one is happily wake, growing
It's ridding all of the weeds, she sleeps
The slumber is a peaceful dream
Building a fence around her wonder
Protecting it, protecting her, dear
The girl falls into a slumber
With her blue eyes closed and
Her timeless smile curling up gracefully
She sleeps, chin resting on her hand
