The Blood is Red, and The Red is Blood

by writersxblock   Mar 10, 2009

I just sort of wrote this out of the blue. For the first time in a year.

The blood is red, and the red is blood, havent you heard?
On my body, the scars are blurred.
Well where were you? You dont remember. I told you, the blood is red, and the red is blood.
Havent you heard? Havent you heard? I am the one to blame? This red blood runs through my torn up veins.
This heart it bleeds, it cannot mend. The pain is nonexistent, or so I pretend.
There is nothing so wrong that blood should be shed, upon my body where your mind was led.
I wont give in. I rest my case, when I make up my mind it will be to late.
I tear them out I put them back, did I never tell you, there color was black?
Thats what it seems when oxygen hits, its all that I will let my body admit.
You are blood.
You are red.
You are the veins that have been long dead.
Havent you heard? Ill bet Im too weak to save you.
I want to, I want to.
You are blood.
You are red.
I wish I was honest inside my head.
Did you know it seeps through my veins? In the open, it puts my heart to shame.
When someone tries to break it, I will bleed out my veins, in my heart the strength I will regain.
Havent you heard?
This is wrong, this is sick, this cant save me, this cant save you.
Havent you heard? This blood is beauty.
