Pictures

I live another life through your pictures
As they take me to another place.
I see sunny skies and yellow sand
I feel it touch between my toes.
I have no rhyme scheme as my thoughts are free
And I find myself up on a mountain with thee.

The darkness of space, as you aim real high
Shows in the lens that leaves eyes beguiled.
I see the stars so close, like burning candles
And I feel them on my arm
The astral lights leave my eyes in shambles.

I see you smiling in your new clothes
And walking around-- where? Nobody knows.
I hear people talking, surround you in rows
And I feel their breath, oh, so close
And its so very close
That I can smell their ardent perfume with my nose.

The flowers you chose to capture in eternity
They're quite pretty in their tiny garden.
The red roses and the yellow sunflowers,
The blue violets with all their powers;
They capture my mind and leave me wondering
As to what kind of smell would come from them.

And I don't care if I don't rhyme
As my mind runs free I try
But what comes to me is left as is
Just like those pictures you took
That are forever free..
In the two-dimensions you gently placed them in.

I escape myself to those greenish mountains
With flowers of red every here and there
To blemish like a rosy cheek the gentle giants
That lay there rested on the belly of earth, compliant.

Everything you see is beautiful
And I'm glad you came to show me
That even if I wasn't there with you
I would not miss a single beat.
