Playing With Fire

by xToBeWithYoux   Mar 17, 2009

Blue-eyed wonder, you make me melt
every time you walk this way.
This can't go on much longer, baby,
if you're fed up, you only gotta say.

Dirty little secrets, I have plenty.
You happen to be just one.
He doesn't know about us, baby,
I'm only having a bit of fun.

Playing with fire, it gives me thrills,
heaven right in the middle of hell.
It's the same for you, isn't it baby?
Can I trust you not to tell?

No, I couldn't. Here we stand.
I shouldn't have tried to pretend,
we could never work, baby.
So now we've reached the end.

I suppose this is goodbye,
my hands are burnt, branded a liar.
Don't apologise now, you baby.
This is what you get for playing with fire.

Wow I think this would make for a great song. The words just seemed to flow wonderfully and with it being set to music I think it would be fantastic.

I really liked your ending stanza !!!

I absolutely love this poem. I like how you penned this forbidden love and your thoughts on it. I agree with Aureus

heaven right in the middle of hell

^^^ This like stood out for me too. I like the way you express and phrase it.

Well though, having to cheat behind someone's back maybe thrilling, but in the end we only get ourself burned when the truth surface up.

    Excellent Job
