It's Never Just a Kiss (A Sonnet)

by Anthony Duvalle   Mar 17, 2009

I am not worthy of the blessing
Floating swiftly through my mind
Adorned with a soft, silk dressing
Unaltered by the wears of time

Warming like the sun's bright shine
A gift you can give with your touch
It's presence is not hard to find
To create it, would not take much

Happiness grows like a tree, so lush
When this act is brought upon me
My muscles will tense, my blood will rush
Heart's beat quickens but does so softly

I'll give you a hint to assist with your thought
These can be collected but cannot be bought

I'm in love. If you were to show me this and the other poems I had just read I would think they were by different poets. When you follow a pattern like a sonnet your poems come alive. The words draw you in there isn't awkward rhyming it's just all fantastic! Nice job
