The Canterbury Tales (Writing Assignment)

by KeyxMashingxParody   Mar 19, 2009

I had to do a writing assignment for my Honors English IV class while we were discussing The Canterbury Tales. We had to observe a teacher or faculty member in our school, and write a story about them similar to the writing style in The Canterbury Tales...so......... HERE YOU GO:

Helping this school, a man I should say,
Later I shall reveal his name.
A strong fellow in fact, or so I should put
He walks around with an iron foot.
The mind of a genius, yet in
The heart I must defend.
Kind and caring as all can see,
Protective soul of his students he
Is, always watching behind open doors,
Scouting hallways and upper floors,
In his defense, one would note,
This fellow never speaks that of a gloat.
When there occurs a storm of fists,
He springs into action, a moment of bliss
He brings to the room,
Relieving the cruel, the mean, and the gloom.
To this moment, I must amend,
His heart is pure I say again.
Of his attire, I will inform,
Nothing that of a uniform.
A collared shirt, that of the sun,
In an office, it seems he runs.
Trousers black as the night itself,
A loose book he is, fallen from a shelf.
Uniquely dressed, finest clothes,
Of higher class, I do not know.
He is a strong man, muscular at that,
Hair like a newborn, he never wore a hat.
This indeed is a manly man,
Who never could, he always can.
I have told you all I know,
All I can see, go
Now and take a gander for yourself, indeed
His face and expressions are hard to read.
Helping the school with a clinched fist,
Caring behavior, that of a mist,
Covering the school, helping many,
His help is always that a plenty.
Never worry, never let down a care,
This kind man, is always there.
Serious and stern, he will show you the way,
This man I speak of, named Mr. Gary.
