On The Edge

by Sylvia   Mar 22, 2009

Perched
on the precipice
of a black aperture
patiently waiting
to discern
if today
is the day
balance is forfeited.

Tenuous position,
held in place
by a single thread
of desperation.

Neither choice
appealing.
Sanity or madness.

The word of choice that you used here was great. The poem was beautifully crafted with only a few words which i think it's extraordinary. It really puts you on the edge between sanity and madness.

    Excellent Job

    Beautiful write Sylvia...

    "Tenuous position,
    held in place
    by a single thread
    of desperation."

^^ very deep lines ... sometimes life shows such phases when we feel we are on the edge ... desparately trying to put everything in place... beautifully penned...

    "Neither choice
    appealing.
    Sanity or madness."

^^ I loved these lines ... very powerful and hard-hitting reality...

Very dark piece you have penned.

    Tenuous position,
    held in place
    by a single thread
    of desperation.

Sometimes we are only holding on by that little thread. If you look hard enough you will see a shining light that makes you keep on fighting.

    Neither choice
    appealing.
    Sanity or madness

This is so sad. When the Sanity is as dismal as the madness :(
    Great job!

    Deep and thought provoking Silvia..
I do not believe in labels..I think all people have a little madness in them in one way or the other and that there is a balance there between sanity and insanity and that certain events ( loss of someone dear, a job an ilness, accident, medicines, drugs, etc) can throw a person off balance. Either temporary or forgood.

    *hugs*
