Step Back

by Beautiful Chaos   Mar 23, 2009

Sat upon the little ledge
One moment
Just free fall

To leave the hurtful world behind
One second
Lose it all

Falling isn't really free
In fact
The cost is high

Believing any other way
Is living
In the lie

Truth can't drive you to that edge
It's meant
To set you free

It's what you do with what you find
That pushes you
To Be

Pain and life are ancient friends
If you breathe
You know

Everyone has tasted hurt
They heal
And let it go

Regret and anger find a way
To break you down
And kill

Every dream you've ever had
Or probably
Ever will

Be the master of your life
Free fall
Into hope

Death will take us soon enough
Don't
Hang from your own rope
