Enraged Crocodile

by Italian Stallion   Mar 23, 2009

Basking amidst warm sentiments,
eyes engaged upon soaring cormorants;
diffused and soon to be diffugient
within my macabre ponderings.

Masticating posthastly
sabulous tender meat,
while trudging along
with truculent manner.

Absquatulating
due to humans,
I slither within
the depths of comfort.

I must admit, Joe, when I see a poem like this, the very very very descriptive types, I often turn away. I decided not to this time, and I'm glad I didn't!

I'll be truthful with you, I didn't understand what some parts meant exactly (but I'm sure the older and wiser readers than me will!), but it seemed to me like I could feel what was going on, not just that I was reading it. Does that make sense? It did when I typed it! :D

The poem flowed well, it has a good rhythm to it, and I like the way the lines get shorter as it goes along, like something or the other is coming to an end... I don't know, maybe it just happened :)

I like the last two lines:

    "I slither within
    the depths of comfort"

Seems quite simple compared to the rest of the poem, but quite poignant in that. I don't know, it just worked for me.

Overall, I really liked it. Not usually my kind of thing, but you had me from the title! This gets a five from me, well done :)

    Keep writing,
    Emily :)
