Crumbled (cont. from "Help me, please")

She grasped the edge and pulled on up
her fingers bloody stained.
Her clothes were ragged, ripped, and torn
from last time that it rained.
Her strength in time was almost gone,
but still she had enough.
She clang on still with just that much
and yearning, desperate love.

She moaned and struggled standing then
while licking at her bruise.
Her eyes told of reality
and nothing left to lose.
She stood so bravely 'gainst the wall,
waiting for the blow.

From where, she thought, would said blow come?
Aside?
Above?
Below?
Bracing hard - anticipation,
silence simply stalled.
She stared so bright eyed, wondering
if fate was truly called.
She, then, began to walk away
and sucked her bloody thumb.
Most pain was gone from overuse.
It made her deathly numb.

Just then a rumble, out of sight,
came ripping through her chest
and out her mouth - the rumbles voice,
a pain not rendered...yet.
She screamed and screamed - unyieldingly.
Her eyes were dead and white.
Reality singed her innocent hairs
and her willingness to fight.
She stumbled, sucking bloody fingers,
safety's hard to find.
Then, she crumbled in the corner...
out of sight...
out of mind...
